A Lil' Blog Contest

Is anyone up for an easy little blog contest??? :) Here's the scoop....

Simply leave a comment below that tells about a connection you've recently made, or a connection you hope to make in 2007. It can be personal, business, spiritual, or ANY other kind of connection.

You'll then be entered in a random drawing for a $5 DSFX gift certificate, plus I'll choose the comment I like the best and that person will receive a $10 DSFX gift certificate. Okey dokey?

The contest will be open until my next blog posting, which could be 2 days from now or 22 days or anywhere in between. lol Make sure you leave your email address if you comment anonymously... remember... it's all about connections!

That's all for now... I'm headed out of town for a couple days! Wooohooooo!

Have a great weekend!

My kids are 12 and 14 and growing up way to fast (LOL). My daughter who is 14 and now goes shopping with out Mum... but loves shopping with her friends, my son goes to the movies with his friends. When they want to spent time with me my answer is alway, I'll just finsh cleaning or cooking or give me five mintues and then I'll help or play. So my connect for 2007 is those five minutes in there lives I make them wait for me. I need to connect with my children when they need me not when I have time, because before I know it they wont need me any longer. It's only five mintues but what am important connect I will be missing and regret as time goes on.

Hi Sheila,
I have made a new connection w/ a co-worker. She is a paper scrapper, young girl just her and a new kitten. Well I had her send me some digital photos of the kitten, and I am going to make her a digital page and put it in a frame for her. I am sorta trying to convert her (hee hee). We work out of our homes, so we dont see much of each other, but internet and email keeps us talking. Oh, and she loves me of course, because I gave her about 4 inches thick of scrapping paper that I wont use anymore.

Have a great night,
Heather

Hi Hun...
Here in the UK we have a teacher traning program that is virtually impossible to get on to, as so few schools do it! I used to work as a teaching assistant with a wonderful teacher called Jennie and it was so fortunate (you might say fate) that I kept in touch with her when we went off to different schools... After my degree I spent months emailing all of the schools in my area to try and get on the program... but nobody ran it. I was crushed as I had to work to pay the bills, I couldn't just take time off. I needed the program because it pays you as you train. Weeks later I spoke to Jennie and she advised that her school was the only place to do it. I was extatic! Within a week I had a formal interview and the school accepted me onto the program! They only have two places and I am one of them. I am so glad I made (and kept) the connection with my friend Jennie! It has been life changing!

Thanks for the contest x
Hugs - Selena

This is an interesting contest.

This year I would like to be able to reconnect with the good friends that I have lost touch with in the years since I have been out of high school. I made a step in that direction the other day when I ran into one of my best friends from young adulthood at the bowling alley. I hope that this will be a year of meeting new friends and reconnecting with old.

My desire (which is a very strong hope that takes root within my heart) is to find me and to connect with her. I have long been adrift in everyone else and in the demands of life which has put a strain on my relationship with myself. I have gained weight, become very lethargic and unhealthy plus my self image has been taking hits right and left... and its all because I've allowed myself to lose my own connections within. I need, desire and hope to connect with my inner strength so that I can be a better person for myself, my husband and especially my daughter. Whew... that's a heavy one huh? But its true, oh so very true. Thanks! :D

Oh I know! I want to make more connections on my scrapbooking. I'm just starting out in this world of digital. It's a little tricky to manage so I'm hoping to meet lots of people and get inspired! I already have with what little I've seen so far and I can tell there is so much more out there to learn and create. Maybe then I'll be able to help someone new like I am!!!

I am hoping to connect more with myself like Rebecca. I need to find time in my day for me, to do the things I want to do. My son is older now & needing & wanting his independence, my DH has his band that keeps him busy & I have... housework! Blah! I have a new digital camera & hoping to start a new hobby & actually get some of these pictures in layouts & share them instead of leaving stuck in a computer file.

Hi Sheila bee! Where'd you go btw? This is Peasy. I'm FINALLY settled in the new house and I'm also off for the next for days, yay. Thought I would sit down and touch basis with all my on-line pals I've missed during this whole mess of a move process.

I made a very interesting connection this year. Let me give you a little history. I was born 11 years after my sister (surprise) :)..and that I was. Because of the age difference, she was more like a 2nd mom to me. She got married and moved out of the house when I was 9 and I was crushed. She moved out of state and when she came back she was like a different person.

Due to some religious issues, we lost touch almost entirely. About two years ago our mom passed away and even then the relationship was still very fragile. Now, you ready for what made us re-connect again? An on-line multi-player game if you can believe it. I started playing the on-line Disney virtual kingdom. I mentioned it to her one day, when my family and I were over visiting my Dad.

She joined and suddenly we were talking again on a daily basis. Giggling and laughing through computer screens, calling each other to see where we are in "line", what we are going to get from the "yard sale", or to celebrate because we got an "award". Even though we are in completely different houses, we are re-connecting. Our relationship is so much closer because of this silly little on-line game. Now whether she joined and continues to play because I'm there or because she just likes it, I don't know. But it really doesn't matter. I'm so happy to have her back :).

Hey Sheila I just joined in and created a blog here, is there any way to link to you? I'd like to be able to go to my blog and click a link to get to yours, or be notified if you post a new entry, etc. I'm having a little trouble figuring out if I can. Any help you can offer would be great! Thanks :)
